I regularly go back to the serpent motif in my work. I’ve always been drawn to the deep symbolic nature of this creature.
Lilith was portrayed by Michelangelo as half woman half serpent wrapped around the tree of life. It’s her rebellious nature that appeals to me. One story told is that Lilith was Adams first wife before Eve, but refused to play a subservient role so she grew wings and flew away.
